drivers. This is because we want our clients to know that our tow truck drivers, our towing
company, and the level and quality of the services we provide to the mountain communities
are very different from what has been common in the towing industry in the past. We recognize
that when a lady breaks down it can be frightening, and getting in a dirty greasy tow truck with
someone who looks like they may have a criminal background is the last thing you want.
That's why all our tow drivers have passed a criminal background check and are drug tested
randomly. Our tow drivers are neat, clean, courteous, and professional. We are proud to be a

Educating our mountain tow truck drivers is also a top company priority here at 1 800
Tow-Help. We require our towing service drivers to participate in the California Highway Patrol
tow truck driver training program. This is an intense two day program aimed at educating
towing drivers in safe towing practices. The course includes education on towing and impound
laws, weight limits of vehicles, weight ratings of cables and equipment, and other safety issues.
The course is hands on with actual staged events for hands on training as well as text book
and lecture. At the end of the training there is a closed book test that usually has a certain
percentage of failures. We require our tow truck operators to pass the test or repeat the
training. If all the local towing companies did this we would definitely be safer for it. We also
strongly urge all of our tow drivers to get a commercial truck driving license even though it is
not required by law for any light duty tow truck operators. We feel that the drivers that have
passed the commercial truck driver DMV written and driving test are much more skillful and
safe drivers, as opposed to a towing company that hires just anyone their insurance company
will insure, and then after a week or two crash course off they go.
